Steve joined Environment Canada in April 2004 as a water policy specialist in the Environmental Conservation Service, following positions where he worked on international water and sustainable development issues with Industry Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Joining the International Affairs Branch of ECCC in November 2005, Steve specialized in transboundary water issues, including the Upper Columbia River file. Since 2007, Steve has managed relations between ECCC and the International Joint Commission, as well as advising on a wide range of transboundary water issues related to water levels and flows in the Great Lakes and transboundary water quality issues along the length of the Canada-U.S. boundary. In August 2017, Steve assumed additional responsibilities as the Manager of Canada-U.S. Relations in the International Affairs Branch.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Queen’s University and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University’s School of Public Policy.
