Torah Kachur is the syndicated science columnist for more than 20 local afternoon shows on CBC Radio One and is a Sessional Lecturer in Cell Biology and Genetics at the University of Alberta. She has a range of science communication experience including host of a 2014 national summer show called What a Waste, a 10 episode show all about the science of repurposing waste. Torah received her PhD in molecular genetics from the University of Alberta in the fascinating yet admittedly less-than-practical field of worm gonads. She’s the co-creator of scienceinseconds.com and has hosted 8 national specials for CBC Radio on topics ranging from the science of lying to the food of the future. She can be heard each week in Ottawa on Thursdays at 4:45 on All in a Day with Alan Neal.
