Lisa A Prime is the Principal of PRIME Strategy and Planning and is on the Advisory Board of
Ryerson Urban Water where she contributes to research, education, policy, and think tank
initiatives and advancements. Lisa is an industry leader in sustainable community development
and the strategy and policy that support the implementation of sustainable, low carbon, and
smart communities. Her approach is based on broad vision and implementation experience
engaging with world class low carbon projects of the C40. Lisa has held roles as a municipal
planner, conservation authority planner, part of senior management with Waterfront Toronto,
and as a consultant, where now she leads her own firm. Her policy experience in sustainability
and water specifically, includes municipal policy development, watershed planning with Toronto
and Region Conservation Authority, work with the federal government on urban integrated
water resource policy, agricultural water use policy, and approvals collaboration in establishing
Aquatic Habitat Toronto, an integrated agency approvals group for Lake Ontario based
development. Her expertise in collaborative public-private partnerships and processes brings
stakeholders together for project success. An integrated thinker, she is a major contributor to
green infrastructure solutions including development of public art-based stormwater solutions
in Toronto’s waterfront. With a strong understanding of complex approvals, including Federal
and Provincial Environmental Assessments and permitting, Lisa has significant experience
working with integrating sensitivity to natural environment, social and business planning into
major infrastructure projects, and implementation of sustainable technologies and solutions
designed to meet performance objectives.
