Jennifer Molson was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 21 in 1996. Six years later, after multiple failed therapies, she took part in a stem cell clinical trial at the Ottawa Hospital funded by the MS Society Scientific Research Foundation. The procedure was a stem cell bone marrow transplant to treat Early Aggressive MS as an auto immune disease. The trial was intended to see if the disease could be halted, but Ms Molson exceeded all expectations by getting better and is now symptom free.
Ms. Molson is currently employed at the Ottawa Hospital as a Research Assistant at the Ages Cancer Assessment Clinic. Since 2006, she has served as a Patient Advocate on the Stem Cell Network’s Research Management Committee and has held a similar role with the Ontario Institute for Regenerative Medicine since 2016.
Ms Molson has a passion for stem cell research and speaking to the public about her experiences being involved in a clinical trial.
