Émilie Parent is completing her Ph. D. in anthropology at the Université de Montréal and works
as a research assistant at the Cégep de Victoriaville’s Centre d’innovation sociale en agriculture

Specifically, she’s responsible for Indigenous projects at CISA and currently works with the
Chisasibi and Opitciwan communities. As part of her research, she explores food sovereignty
achieved through agricultural social innovations, applying methods that centre on the interaction
between community involvement and new technologies.

Finally, Ms. Parent is also completing her thesis on tribal healing practices in India.
