Carrie Boyce

Program Manager
Specialising in outreach and public engagement, Carrie works to promote lifelong learning, widen
participation and champion social mobility and diversity in STEM. Carrie has enjoyed a varied career,
working with the University of Cambridge, Royal Society of Chemistry and Cancer Research UK in
England, before relocating to Toronto. In Toronto, she has worked with the Engineers of Tomorrow, an
outreach venture of Engineers Without Borders, Canada, volunteered with Toronto-based science
communication network SciCommTO and currently works with the Royal Canadian Institute for Science.
Over the course of her career, she has identified an increasing gap in the funding and resources available
to support adult STEM engagement initiatives - a gap that can only have contributed to the growing
problem of misinformation and alternative facts in a post-truth era. She can’t believe that’s a sentence
she had to write.
