Carolyn DeLoyde’s current research focus is quantifying ecosystem services to enhance the use of natural heritage systems in response to climate change. 

She has been a registered professional planner and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners since 1996. As well, she has been an instructor of geography at Nipissing University since 2011, teaching courses in international development, environmental impact assessment, geography of Canada and biogeography. Carolyn has over twenty years experience as a professional planner in Ontario, having worked at the provincial, regional and municipal levels. In addition, Carolyn has worked at various provincial ministries and municipalities in both northern and southern Ontario. Carolyn has represented the Ministry of Municipal Affairs as an expert witness at the Ontario Municipal Board and the Region of Halton at the Ontario Court of Justice.
