Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy and Founder of the Diversity Institute in the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University

Dr. Wendy Cukier, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy and Founder of the Diversity Institute in the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University (ON), is a multidisciplinary researcher, teacher and leader, committed to advancing innovation and social justice. She is the coauthor of the bestseller “Innovation Nation: Canadian Leadership from Java to Jurassic Park” and recognized as an authority on disruptive technologies. She founded the Diversity Institute to develop actionable research that promotes inclusion with a particular focus on the intersection of gender, race, social economic status, sexual orientation and gender identity, disability and Indigeneity. Previously, she served as Ryerson’s Vice-President of Research and Innovation and led the University’s strategy to grow research and to promote innovation and commercialization. She broke new ground in employment-linked learning with ADaPT (Advancing Digital and Professional Training), a program developed to equip hundreds of social science and humanities graduates with the technical and business skills needed to fill Canada’s widening technical skills talent gap. She was also the project lead and chair of the working group for the Ontario Centre for Workforce Innovation (OCWI). She has published more than 200 papers or reports on diversity, equity, technology and innovation. She holds a PhD in Management Science (York) and honorary doctorates from Laval and Concordia.
